K & O: Nous avons pris la clé des champs pour la journée fermes ouvertes, et nous avons rencontré Thomas et sa famille à La Grange Lainière au Sappey-en-Chartreuse. Nous avons vu le fermier tondre le mouton... K & O: We met Thomas and his family for the 2011 Open Farm Day at Le Sappey en Chartreuse. Among other things, we watched a farmer shear the sheep...

K & O: ... Nous avons aussi mouliné des noix pour faire une délicieuse huile de noix. K & O: ... And we also ground walnuts to prepare a delicious walnut oil.

K & O: Bientôt, tous les quatre (avec Mathieu et Thomas), nous serons des ados, mais pas encore. Maintenant on fait juste semblant. K & O: Soon, all four of us (Mathieu and Thomas included) will be teenagers. Soon, but not today. Today, we just pretend to be teenagers.

C: Dans deux mois, nous serons trois. R: Non, quatre! Non, attends, cinq! Ouah! R: One happy couple, just two months before there's three of us! C: Four of us! No, wait, five of us!

O: Un après-midi, il y avait un grand orage avec plein de grêle. Nous avons dû prendre les balais avec Mireille et la famille Bret et sortir toute l'eau de notre garage innondé. O: There was a great hailstorm one afternoon and, with Mireille and the Bret family, we had to sweep all the water out of our inundated garage.

K & O: Pendant que maman travaillait à Colmar, nous avons trouvé une petite gare et nous avons regardé les trains qui passaient. K & O: While Mommy was at work in Colmar, we found a small train station and waited for trains to pass. It's more exhilarating than it sounds, really!

O: Un des plus importants clients d'Abrakadabra, la médiathèque de Strasbourg a des chaises avant-gardistes mais très confortables. O: One of Abrakadabra's major clients, the library of Strasbourg has truly avant-garde but, at the same time, very comfortable chairs.

K & O: A travers le Couchsurfing, nous avons trouvé une famille adorable à Strasbourg avec qui nous avons passé trois agréables journées. Merci, Lilian et Yoav, et n'hésitez pas à nous rendre visite à Voiron. K & O: Through Couchsurfing, we found a wonderful family in Strasbourg with whom we spent three enjoyable days. Thank you again, Lilian and Yoav, and please do not hesitate to visit us in Voiron.

K: Une belle photo d'une belle fille avec un beau chapeau. K: Do you like my new hat? I sure do!

K & O: Notre visite à Strasbourg n'est pas complète tant qu'on n'est pas allés au parc de l'Orangerie voir les cigognes. K & O: Our Strasbourg visit is never complete until we see the storks at the Orangerie park.

K & O: Papa nous raconte les histoires de Gnomo mago et ses amis presque tous les soirs, et un des protagonistes est Jackie le scorpion géant, qui est exactement comme celui-ci. K & O: Daddy is telling us the saga of Gnomo mago almost every night at bedtime, and Jackie the giant scorpion is one of the recurring characters. He looks exactly like this.

K: Nous sommes au Vaisseau, en train d'apprendre les bases d'un chantier de construction. O: Attention, papa! Je tourne la manivelle et la grue redémarre. R: Attends, Orlando! Kylie-Anne n'a pas encore pris la brique. R & K & O: We are at the kids' construction site in the Vaisseau, where you learn about science with a unique hands-on approach.

O: Je dois transporter des briques d'un côté du chantier à l'autre. O: I need to bring more bricks in my wagon to the house we're building.

K & O: Vous savez pourquoi nous sommes allongés sur un tapis avec Yasmine et Emil? Parce que c'est un tapis magique... K & O: Do you know why we're lying on a carpet with Yasmine and Emil? Because it's a magic carpet...

K & O: ... Graçe à la magie cinématographique, nous survolons des forêts et des montagnes sur notre tapis volant. K & O: ... Thanks to blue-screen movie magic, we're on a flying carpet above forests and mountains.

C & K & O: Nous voici dans le Jardin des deux rives devant le pont de l'Europe qui relie l'Allemagne avec la France. C & K & O: At the Two Shores Garden, the Bridge of Europe crosses the Rhine and links Germany and France.

K & O: Il y a plein de choses à faire dans l'aire de jeux à Kehl en Allemagne. On ne peux pas juste conduire un bateau... K & O: There are lots of exciting games at the playground in Kehl, Germany. Not only one boat...

K & O: ... Mais on peut conduire deux bateaux! Attention à ne pas tomber dans l'eau! ... K & O: ... But two boats! Careful not to fall in the water! ...

K & O: ... Et il y a aussi ce super-toboggan, avec un troll qui fait du bruit en-dessous. K & O: ... And there's also this superslide, complete with a troll making noise under it.

K & O: Eh, oui, même à Strasbourg on se salit et on doit prendre un bain. Yasmine et Emil aussi. K & O: Yup, even in Strasbourg we get dirty and we need to take baths. Yasmine and Emil, also.

K & O: Après trois jours de fête à Strasbourg, c'est normal qu'on est fatigués sur le chemin de retour. K & O: This is what happens when we party for three days in Strasbourg, we fall unconscious in the car on the way back.

K & O: Nous avons emprunté le jeu Mandala de la ludothèque et pendant deux semaines, toute la famille a mis en valeur sa créativité. K & O: Have you seen this Mandala game before? We highly recommend it for enhancing creativity and finding inner peace.

K: T'es sûre que ce ballon n'est pas trop grand pour toi, Océane? K: Are you sure this ball is not too big for you, Océane?

C: Soit je joue vraiment bien le jeu, soit Robert connaît le sexe du bébé. Mystère! C: Either I am a really convincing actress, or Robert guessed the sex of the baby. Which is it?

R: Vous êtes des limaces! Et aussi deux escargots! K & O & ...: Tu es une limace! Tu es une limace! K & O: Treasure was hidden somewhere around Eva's house for her birthday. All of us are participating on the treasure hunt, so that we can become fairies and leprechauns.

K: Un papillon, un arc-en-ciel, des fleurs, et un prince de printemps. Tout le monde était très joli avec son maquillage. K: Eva received lots of presents for her birthday, which reminded me that my birthday is coming up soon, too. That's why I have my thinking face on.

O: Moi aussi, je suis le prince de printemps! O: I'm the Gruffalo, Gruffalo, Gruffalo!

R: Bon, c'est le dernier tour cette fois-ci, c'est promis! A qui le tour? R: Alright, I'll drive the jeep one more time, if I have to! Who wants to come with me this time?

K & O: Finalement, après sept mois de travaux, le nouveau square Brameret a été inauguré ce mois-ci. K & O: Finally, after seven months of work, they inaugurated the new Brameret square this month.

K & O: Les familles de Maïlys et Eva et Jessica sont venues pour l'anniversaire de papa. K & O: Maïlys' and Eva and Jessica's families came for a barbecue on Daddy's birthday.

K & O: C'est la première fois qu'on est allé au lac Paladru cette année. On ne comptait pas nager, mais l'eau était trop bonne pour s'en passer. K & O: It's the first time we went to the Paladru lake this year, and the water was not even that cold!

K: Avec ma classe, nous apprenons à ne pas avoir peur de l'eau à la piscine de Voiron. K: We're learning to swim at the swimming pool with my class.

K: Ça y est, j'ai six ans! Maintenant je peux faire du vélo même dans le centre ville. K: This is it! I'm six years old, and that means I can ride my bike downtown.

K: Papa a fait des gaufres, maman a rajouté la crème au chocolat et cela fait un joli gâteau d'anniversaire. K: Six candles burning on a waffle birthday cake, and a big girl prepared to blow them all out.

K & O: Cette année aussi, nous avons organisé la fête des voisins. Chacun apporte quelque chose à manger et une histoire à partager. K & O: For the fourth year in a row, we organized the Neighbor's Day where everyone brings three things to share: some food, some stories, and some good laughs.

K: Nous regardons Alicia et sa troupe flamenco Yema Andalusa en train de danser à l'annuelle Paella-Flamenco-Sangria fête organisée par le Club Franco-Espagnol de Voiron... K: We're watching Alicia and her group Yema Andalusa perform a flamenco dance at the annual Paella-Flamenco-Sangria party organized by the French-Spanish club of Voiron...

C & K & O: ... Et après une bonne paella (pas de sangria pour nous), c'est à notre tour de danser. C & K & O: ... And after a yummy paella (but no sangria for us), it's our turn to dance.

K: Chaque année, il y a de plus en plus de monde à ma fête d'anniversaire! Cette année, nous avons construit des chapeaux d'anniversaire, dansées sur la musique brésilienne, ... K: Every year, there's more and more kids at my birthday party! This year, seven girlfriends (and one brother) came and we all made our birthday hats. Then, we learned about continents and countries...

K: ... Plus tard, nous avons joué et couru dehors... K: ... Later, there were games and a treasure hunt outside...

K & O: ... Nous avons mangé de la pastéque, des cerises et même des barbapapas à mon anniversaire... K & O: ... We ate watermelon, cherries, and even cotton candy at my birthday...

K & O: ... Sans oublier les délicieux gâteaux d'anniversaire... K & O: ... Not to forget my delicious birthday cakes...

K: ... Vu qu'il a fait très beau, nous avons sorti la piscine pour se baigner... K: ... Since the weather was warm enough, we jumped in the pool and made some noise...

K: ... Au final, c'était l'heure de se sécher et de se calmer. La fête est finie, merci beaucoup pour ces émotions, mes amies! K: ... But then it was time to wind down, calm down, dry down. The party was fun, thank you, my friends!

K: C'est la fête des mères, et nous avons préparé des jolis cadeaux pour maman. Orlando a aussi appris un poème. O: "Maman! Je voudrais pour ta fête t'apporter un très beau cadeau. Non pas un cadeau qu'on achète, mais mon amour, c'est bien plus beau!" K & O: It's Mother's Day and we gave Mommy the presents we made in school. O: I also recited a poem I learned in school.

K & O: Ouf! Après toutes ces fêtes et ces belles émotions, cela fait du bien juste de lire des livres tranquillement. Après tout, on sait que le calme ne durera pas longtemps. K & O: Phew! After all these parties and emotions, it feels good to just relax and read some books. After all, pretty soon we'll be helping our parents even more with Abrakadabra.
