L: Une belle initiative à la médiathèque ce jour-ci: Nous choisissons un livre qui nous est lu dans une des voitures de collection et après, on peut même garder le livre... L: What a great initiative at the library today! We can choose a book that we like, it is read to us in an antique car, and then we can keep that book...

L: ... Et cette action n'est pas seulement pour les enfants, les adultes peuvent faire pareil... L: ... And it's not only for kids, the adults can have a book read to them, also...

L: ... Maman a choisi un Panhard CT24 et un livre avec "Rita & Machin" ... L: ... Mommy chose a Panhard CT24 and a "Rita & Machin" book...

L: ... Et papa a choisi un Cadillac américain et "Oh, les amoureux". Les Etats-Unis lui manquent-ils? Ou est-ce qu'il est amoureux? L: ... And Daddy chose an American-made Cadillac and "Oh, les amoureux". Could it be that he misses the USA? Or is he in love?

O: Si je deviens un ingénieur quand je serai grand, je vais concevoir le vaisseau spatial le plus compliqué du monde! O: If I become an engineer when I'm big, I'm going to design the most complicated spaceship ever!

K & O: Nous voici près de Charmant Som dans le massif de la Chartreuse... K & O: We're near Charmant Som, one of the main summits of the Chartreuse Mountains...

O & L: ... Profitez de la magnifique vue de notre montagne... O & L: ... Just enjoy the views and the landscape of the Chartreuse like we did...

O & L: ... Méditez un peu, contemplez cette immensité de notre belle planète... O & L: ... Contemplate the immensity of our beautiful world...

O & L: ... Et la plupart de nous ont eu le courage pour monter au sommet, à la croix, au Charmant Som. Mais une de nous, non. K: C'est bon! Je n'avais pas vraiment envie de grimper, c'est tout. O & L: ... And most of us climbed all the way to the top, to the cross, to Charmant Som. But one of us didn't! K: Alright, alright, cut it out, you guys. I didn't feel like climbing, that's all!

O: Nous avons eu un microscope avec trois grandissements: 100x, 200x et 450x. Et je vais vous dire quelque chose, je n'aimerais pas croiser un pou de tête même 100 fois plus grand que le vrai. O: We have a microscope with three magnifications: 100x, 200x, and 450x. And I'll tell you something, I wouldn't like to meet a head louse even 100 times bigger than the real one. Gracias, Tiquismiquis, para tu ayuda.

K & O & L: C'est le temps de la foire de la Saint-Martin encore une fois, et ça veut dire des sucettes extra-grandes avec des couleurs très vives pour nous tous! K & O & L: It's the time for the Saint-Martin fair again, and that means giant bright-colored lollipops for everyone!

K & O: Qu'est-ce que c'est que ce miracle qui a poussé au stade de l'Inolab? Cela semble très grand, et ce côté si, c'est seulement la largeur, pas la longueur... K & O: What is this miracle that grew at the Inolab's stadium? It seems very big, and this is only its width, not its length...

K & O & L: ... C'est le chapiteau du Festival international du cirque, organisé pour la première fois à Voiron... K & O & L: ... It's the circus tent for the international circus festival, for the first time organized in Voiron ...

L: ... Et il y aura des éléphants. Des éléphants! L: ... And will we see some elephants? Oh, yes, we will!

L: Novembre, c'est aussi le mois de la fête foraine et les beaux manèges. L: November is also when the fun fair comes and I get to ride on the merry-go-round.

C & K & O & L: Qui c'est qui veut de la barbe à papa? Tout le monde, bien sûr. C & K & O & L: Who wants some cotton candy? Everyone, of course.

C & K & R & O: La vague infernale! Ca tourne et ça tourne de plus en plus vite, et papa est écrasé de plus en plus, aussi. C & K & R & O: The infernal wave! It just keeps going faster and faster, and thanks to the centrifugal force, everybody squishes Daddy.

K & R & O & L: Sans aucun doute, la meilleure chose à la fête foraine, c'étaient les auto-tamponneuses. Avec de la musique forte, en plus, c'est le pied! ... K & R & O & L: Without a doubt, the best deal were the bumper cars! Put some cool loud music on and round and round we go bumping into each other...

L: Maman, t'es sûre que je suis assez grand pour ça? C: Ne t'inquiète pas, je te tiens, mon grand. C: Are you sure you are big enough to go in these cars, my little one? L: As long as you hold me, I'll be OK, Mommy!

K & O: Nous avons vraiment hâte de grandir et de tamponner des vrais voitures... Mais, non, c'est une blague! K & O: We can hardly wait to grow up and start crashing real cars like this... Just kidding!

K: Papa essaie de nous motiver à manger plus de fruits pour notre goûter. Mais il ne sait pas que l'essentiel est invisible pour les yeux. K: Daddy's trying to come up with new ways to motivate us to eat fruit. Doesn't he know that the inside means more than the outside?

O: Notre classe a gagné première place à une course pédestre contre les classes de CE2 des autres écoles. Je suis fier de mes camarades et de moi-même. O: Our class won first place in a running race, so each one of us gets to take home the cup for a day. I'm very proud of my class and of myself, also.

L: Le grand événement à Voiron ce mois-ci, c'était le 14ème Festival International du Cirque, présenté par Jean-Pierre Foucault. Quel magnifique spectacle! ... L: The big event this month in Voiron was the 14th International Circus Festival. What a spectacular show, with lots of talent, thrills, and laughs! ...

... Les meilleurs numéros étaient le clown Bello Nock, les troupes de chevaux et des éléphants, les jongleurs handicappés, les acrobates de Hakuna Matata, les hommes forts Messoudi, etc. etc. ... The best acts were Bello Nock the very funny clown, the amazing Hakuna Matata acrobats, the handicapped jugglers, the strong Messoudi family, and of course, the horse-and-elephant show.

K & O & (L): A la fin du cirque, c'était le lion de King Jouet qui nous a souhaité bonne nuit avec une petite sucette. K & O & (L): At the end of the show, the King Jouet lion greeted us with some lollipops (for those who were awake, at least).

C: Cela fait des années que nous voulions aller dans le restaurant El Tex Mex à Grenoble. Maintenant que c'est fait, on ne pense à autre que d'y retourner. C: It's been years that we wanted to eat at the El Tex Mex restaurant in Grenoble. We really should have come before, it is delicious!

C & R: Les photos précédentes du cirque étaient de mercredi et de jeudi, mais nous sommes également allés pour la finale le samedi soir. Les places n'étaient pas très bonnes, mais le spectacle était très beau. C & R: The earlier circus pictures were from the Wednesday tryouts and the Thursday show. This one is at the Saturday finals, and even with not very good seats, the show was great.

K & O: Merci à Guy et à Julie et à toute l'équipe de GC Productions de nous avoir choisi pour le jury des enfants. Nous étions des vrais stars, des VIPs pendant trois jours. Nous avons pu côtoyer les célébrités et voir les numéros du festival de très près. K & O: Since we were in the children's jury, we had VIP access for three days. We mingled with real celebrities and we watched the circus acts from up close. Thank you, Guy and Julie and the rest of the GC team, for letting us be a part of this festival.

L: En parlant du cirque, moi aussi, je sais faire des numéros spéctaculaires... L: All this circus talk makes me want to do circus tricks, also...

R: ... Oui, Ludwig, mais je dois travailler, aussi. Sinon, qui c'est qui imprimera toutes les factures du mois? R: ... Yes, Ludwig, but now I need to work. Otherwise, who will print out all these end-of-the-month invoices?

R: Quel malheur! J'ai glissé avec le vélo et tapé un poteau. Bon, je tortille un peu la roue et ça va s'arranger. R: How clumsy of me! I slipped on the wet road and hit a pole with my bike wheel. Oh, well, nothing a couple of strong arms can't fix.

Pour la fin du mois, nous sommes allés à La Buisse voir un autre spectacle, beaucoup plus petit, mais plein d'humour, de bruits et de poésie. For the end of this month, we went to La Buisse to see another show, much more intimate, but still full of humor, noise, and poetry.
