K & O & L: Encore une fois, c'est le mois de l'avent, et nos nouveaux calendriers Barbie, Star Wars et Peppa Pig sont pleins de chocolat. Pour l'instant! K & O & L: Once again, it's advent time, and our new Barbie, Star Wars, and Peppa Pig calendars are full of chocolates. For now!

L: Les mardi, je participe à une activité à la garderie, et ce soir, je suis maquillé comme un prince. L: On Tuesdays, after school, the daycare offers all kinds of activities. Today, I have a prince make-up on me.

O: J'ai préparé une petite scène de Noël pour Saint Nicolas ... O: I prepared a Christmas scene for Mikulás ...

K & O & L: ... Chaque année, nous nous attendons à un virgács de la part de Mikulás, mais il nous apporte toujours des cadeaux et du chocolat. Apparemment, on n'est pas des enfants très vilains, après tout. K & O & L: ... Every year, we expect Saint Nicholas to bring us a virgács, but he always brings us chocolate and presents. We must not be bad children, after all.

Roomba: Je suis fatigué et j'aimerais bien que quelqu'un me remplace. Neato: Eh, bah, non, ça ne sera pas moi! Je fais trop de bruit et te maîtres me renverront au fabricant. Mais je vais leur dire de t'acheter une nouvelle battérie. Neato: Out with the old, in with the new! It's time for you to retire! Roomba: Yeah, I don't think so! You sound like a helicopter and my masters will send you back to where you came from! But it's true I'm old, I sure could use a new battery.

L: Ce ne sont pas des vrais skis, maman, mais je m'éclate bien, quand même. L: These are not real skis, Mommy, but I'm having fun, anyway.

K & R & O: Quelle bonne idée à Courchevel 1650 d'avoir une piste de ski gratuite pour nous exercer le premier jour. K & R & O: What a great idea at Courchevel 1650 to have a free slope that's perfect to practice our skiing on the first day.

K & O: Oh, non, on tombe de notre luge! Au secours! K & O: Oh, no, we're falling off our sled! Heeeeelp!

C & K & O: Courchevel, c'est vraiment pour les riches. Toutes les branches de tous les arbres sont illuminées, et ne parlons pas des hôtels et d'autres bâtiments! C & K & O: With all the trees (and even all the branches of all the trees) illuminated, and all the buildings decorated, we really felt the spirit of Christmas in Courchevel.

L: Ah, ça, c'est beaucoup mieux! Avec des vrais skis, je peux contrôler ma direction un peu plus que hier. Avec maman ou papa juste derrière moi, bien sûr. L: Ah, now that's more like it! With real skis on my feet, I can control my direction a little bit better than yesterday. With Mommy or Daddy right behind me, of course.

K & O: Vous savez que nous sommes venus à Courchevel pour voir le championnat du monde de ski alpin féminin? La ligne d'arrivée est juste derrière nous. K & O: Did you know that we came to Courchevel to see the FIS Women's Alpine World Ski Championship? That's the finish line behind us.

R & K & O & L: Nous avons aussi invité Diva et Théo pour la fin de la semaine. L: Et avec Diva, c'était notre première fois qu'on mettait des skis sur nos pieds. R & K & O & L: We also invited Diva and Théo for the weekend. L: And just like for me, it was Diva's first time to put on skis.

L: Je suis intrépide. J'ai convaincu papa de m'amener presque jusqu'au sommet de la montagne. Maintenant, il faut juste qu'il me descende jusqu'au bas. On y va, papa! L: I'm intrepid. I told Daddy that he can take me up all the way until almost the top of the mountain. Now all he has to do is ski all the way down together with me. Let's go, Daddy!

C & K & R & O: Une belle récompense après une belle journée au ski: la raclette traditionnelle. C & K & R & O: We're eating a sumptuous raclette to regain all the calories that we lost during the long day skiing.

Avant de partir de Courchevel, nous avons vu le spectacle d'illumination projeté sur les reliefs et les contours du clocher de l’église et du rocher sur lequel elle prend appui. Before leaving the town of Courchevel, we watched the 7-minute illumination show on the church and the rock it's built upon.

K & O & L: De retour à Voiron, où il n'y a pas de neige cette année. Mais on s'amuse quand même! K & O & L: We're back in Voiron, where there is no snow this year. But we're having fun anyway!

K & O & L: Nous avons attendu pour faire un tour de ville dans la calèche de Papa Noël, mais il y avait trop de monde et plus de place. Ce n'est pas grave, nous reviendrons l'année prochaine. K & O & L: We waited to go around the city in Father Christmas's horse and carriage, but in vain. There were too many people and not enough room. Oh, well, next year!

"Dans l'atelier de confection de cadeaux, au Pôle Nord, les lutins manquent soudainement de ruban de satin rouge. Le ruban à bord de l'Orléans Express, désireux de participer à la magie de Noël à Orléans, s'échappe et déroule ses longs mètres à travers le centre ville..."

C & K & O & L: Coucou! On est là, dans la boule! Il est magnifique, ce manège festif, un sapin de Noël décoré qui tourne. C & K & O & L: What a magnificent carousel in the shape of a decorated Christmas tree. And look, there we are waving at you right now!

K & O & L: Voici une curiosité intéréssante: Nous n'avons pas fêté Noël à Orléans depuis 2008! K & O & L: Here's a fun fact: Did you know that we haven't celebrated Christmas in Orléans since 2008?

K & O & L: Une visite incontournable à Marcilly-en-Gault s'impose, avec un délicieux repas festif chez Mamie Ginette. K & O & L: A delicious festive meal in Marcilly-en-Gault with grandma Ginette ends always in a delicious festive desert.

K & O & L: Nous adorons jouer à côté de l'eau, lac ou mer, rivière ou étang, qu'importe la saison! C: Je pense que le saule pleureur est mon arbre préféré. K & O & L: We love playing next to the water, be it the sea or a river or a lake, and no matter the season! C: The weeping willow is my favorite tree.

C & K & O & L: Trois générations de la même famille devant la maison de la quatrième génération de la famille. C & K & O & L: Three generations of the family in front of the house of the fourth generation of the family.

K & O & L: Une autre visite incontournable, c'est Romorantin et tata Evelyne, et cette fois-ci, notre cousine Léna était là avec ses parents. K & O & L: Another family get-together was at great-aunt Evelyne's place in Romorantin, with our cousin Léna and her parents.

C: Le centre ville d'Orléans a été très bien décorée pour les fêtes cette année. C: Downtown Orléans was very nicely decorated for the holidays this year.

Pendant les fêtes de fin d’année, la Cathédrale Sainte-Croix d’Orléans a accueilli l'exposition exceptionnelle "Noël en Provence"... During the holiday season, the cathedral in Orléans welcomed an extra-ordinary exhibition: "Christmas in Provence"...

... La Provence et son village y étaient réprésentés avec 300 santons et automates. C'est la seule crèche itinérante au monde d’une envergure de 250 m2. ... The Provence and its village were represented with 300 santon figurines. It's the biggest itinerant Nativity scene in the world!

K & O & L: Tonton Stéphane a un pseudonyme. C'est Tonton Bonbon, parce qu'il nous apporte toujours des bonbons. K & O & L: Uncle Stéphane's nickname is Tonton Bonbon, because he always has a candy in his pockets for his niece and his nephews.

Pour la première fois, nous avons un faux sapin de Noël chez nous qui ne perd pas les aiguilles. Et peu importe tout ça, tant qu'il y a des cadeaux sous le sapin! For the first time, we bought a fake Christmas tree. It looks nice, it doesn't lose its needles, and who cares really, as long as there are presents under it!

K & O & L: Cette année, Papa Noël nous a apporté des cadeaux "made in France", parce qu'il tient à notre belle planète. K & O & L: This year, Santa Claus brought us presents "made in France", since he cares a lot about our beautiful planet.

K & O & L: La dernière matinée de l'année, nous sommes allés au cinéma. Non, nous n'avons pas vu ce film derrière nous (même si on aimerait bien le voir); nous avons vu "Le voyage d'Arlo". K & O & L: We went to the movies on this last morning of 2015. No, we didn't see this movie behind us (although we really would like to see it); we saw "The Good Dinosaur".

K & O & L: Nous nous amusons bien au réveillon de Nouvel an avec Anne et Thomas et la famille Horváth. Bonne année 2016! K & O & L: A lot of fun was had for New Year's Eve with Anne and Thomas and the Horváths. Happy New 2016!
